Redundancy Assistance Training

Back to WorkPeople who have been working for many years are often put at a disadvantage when their employer informs them that they are under threat of redundancy which means they have to actively seek new employment. This is especially daunting if they have been in the same job for many years.

FleetMaster Training Ltd has developed a short course that provides such persons with the skills to find a new job. Our 30 hour programme covers:

  • Job Search Skills
  • Targeted CV and Application Form Writing.
  • Preparation for Interviews
  • Interview Skills Assessments.

This programme is accredited to a BTEC Level 1 Award in WorkSkills, which also means learners gain an additional qualification to those they may already hold. FleetMaster Tutors will support the individual after they have left employment, up to 6 months, to provide additional support to them in gaining new employment. We can utilise our extensive employer contacts to assist them in finding a new job.

FleetMaster Training works closely with the GMB Union to ensure their members who are under threat of redundancy get the support they require. Through joint negotiations with the Union and the employer we deliver the training on the employer’s site, around their shift patterns.

WorkSkills Training and Support for the Un-Employed

FleetMaster Training Ltd is very much aware of the difficulties that the Long Term Un-Employed have in gaining employment. We have developed a 3 week training and support programme that encourages such learners to look realistically at their prospects of finding a job that suits their skills and qualifications. As well as the topics used in our Redundancy Assistance Programmes, learners will also cover:

  • Self-Assessment of their Personal Skills and Qualities.
  • Develop their problems solving skills.
  • Develop Team Working Skills.
  • Self-Management Skills.
  • How to set and meet both Personal and Work Related Targets.
  • How to manage their own Personal Health at Home and Work.
  • Understand their Personal Rights and Responsibilities at Work.

Learners undertaking this programme will gain a BTEC Level 1 Certificate in WorkSkills at the end of the course. This programme is suitable for persons on Job Seekers Allowance or on the DWP Work Programme. Tutors actively support learners to find employment and have a 50% success rate.
