Dated: 21 Feb, 2023

Fleetmaster are working with several companies to assist their drive towards a greener fleet. One such company is Network Rail, Fleetmaster were invited to attend a recent 2 day event at the Network Rail headquarters in Milton Keynes. The event held by the Network Rail Fleet Team was designed to show colleagues how they intend to achieve their zero emissions car and van fleet target.

When asked about the event Network Rail Head of Road Fleet James Rooney commented:

“Network Rail are committed to our decarbonisation goals and will have a whole zero emissions car and van fleet by 2027. Our event this week was to showcase to and engage with our colleagues in all areas of the business how and why we intend on doing this. Everyone from drivers to senior execs were able to see the vehicles we are using at this stage, the methods to identify and deliver their correct placement, and all the back office support functions and people that make it possible. Of note is the requirement to train our operatives on the new vehicles to ensure the best acceptance and use of alternatively fuelled vehicles.”

Fleetmaster’s Key Account Manager for Network Rail Martin Hopkins added:

“We were delighted to be invited to attend the event in Milton Keynes and see the work the Fleet Team are doing and how they are engaging with colleagues to educate them about the green journey they are undertaking. The event was a great success and it was encouraging to see the enthusiasm for the move to electric vehicles.”
